‘Baby Jane’ is an adaptation – by Australian writer Ed Wightman – of the novel ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Jane’ by Henry Farrell.
It isn’t the film version turned into a play.
It follows the increasingly twisted dynamics between two sisters bound to each other by their involvement in a terrible car accident, and now living in virtual seclusion. Jane is a former child star desperate to reclaim her early fame, and Blanche, a successful Hollywood actress whose career ended tragically as a result of the accident.
It’s a play that focuses on frustrated dreams, childhood exploitation and desperation.
Our production of Baby Jane will be the first in the UK.
